VoIP Inc Announces Asia Pacific Virtual Service Provider Partner9 December 2004
VoIP, Inc. (OTCBB:VOII) today announced that it has signed a Virtual Service Provider (VSP) Agreement with Parrot Communications Ltd., a Hong Kong company. Service will be first launched in the New Zealand market where Parrot has a subsidiary and will be expanded into other markets.
Under the Agreement, VoIP Inc. will supply their proprietary Internet Telephony services so that Parrot can establish services throughout the Asia Pacific region. In addition, VOIP Inc. will be supplying Multimedia Terminal Adaptors (MTA's) from its wholly owned subsidiary, VoIP Solutions Inc. ECommerce, web site applications and customer billing will be outsourced to VoIP Inc. The service will be launched this month primarily to small and medium size businesses initially in New Zealand and Australia with plans to expand operations into Japan and China early next year.
The Parrot web sites and other sales and distribution channels will offer customers a choice of services, rate plans and local telephone numbers. The Agreement will permit Parrot to market Enhanced Services from country to country utilizing Voice Over Internet Protocol. "The VSP service offered by VOIP Inc has enabled Parrot to escalate the launch of our service by several months and significantly reduced our capital cost," commented Greg Young, Parrot's CEO and Managing Director. "VoIP Inc. will customize products and rate plans under our own brand to meet local market conditions and provide us a hybrid turnkey solution that gives us the flexibility to own some network components and outsource others while giving us the option to completely own our infrastructure at a later date."
The integrated VoIP/ADSL functions are extremely important in deploying services in the Southern Hemisphere. "We trialed the service for a period of three months and found the service offered superior voice quality, immediate call completion at remarkably low prices. In addition, the ability to remotely provision customers using VoIP, Inc.'s proprietary provisioning system is very impressive, and one of the key reasons we selected VoIP, Inc. as our strategic partner," said Young.
"This relationship further substantiates our strategy to provide our international partners with enhanced services to be offered in local markets, local currency and local languages. This agreement represents our continuing commitment to International Markets and is one of many that will facilitate our global network services and CPE manufacturing business," commented Steven Ivester, VoIP Inc.'s Chief Executive Officer. "Parrot's senior management team has many years of experience in providing Information Technology services to the Pan Asian market and they have developed an aggressive business model in deploying enhanced services," said Young.
