Viseon Media to Announce VoIP Multimedia Pilot for Late 200526 April 2005
ViseonMedia, a subsidiary of Viseon, Inc. (OTCBB: VSNI) and exclusive provider of TV-quality content to VisiFone Multimedia digital home telephones, today officially announced the launch of their VoIP Multimedia pilot for late 2005. The pilot will unveil the VisiFone Multimedia (VisiFone MM) digital telephone for VoIP, as a revolutionary content delivery platform, capable of displaying fully interactive video and digital audio without the complexities of a personal computer, in addition to VoIP telephone/videophone functionality. ViseonMedia is still signing up innovative marketers, advertisers and content providers to join the ranks of Visa, Fox News, Discovery Channel and more, delivering news, entertainment, and informational content to VisiFone MM users around the globe. ViseonMedia plans a full roll-out of its programming in 2006.
"Since ViseonMedia's soft launch in March, we have had tremendously positive feedback and significant interest from a broad range of advertisers and content providers," explained J.D. de Haseth, president and CEO of ViseonMedia. "VoIP is a still untapped and emerging market and the VisiFone multimedia platform provides an ideal way for marketers to target, engage, and establish meaningful dialog with their respective audiences in an entertaining and truly interactive manner."
"The multimedia pilot on the VisiFone will finally empower VoIP subscribers and new users to take full advantage of their broadband Internet connections. Apart from making digital quality phone calls, TV-quality videophone calls, and benefiting from the feature-rich VoIP telephony services, the pilot allows VoIP users to fully customize and schedule the information provided on the color screen, when they want it and how they want it," explained John Harris, president and CEO of Viseon, Inc., the developer of the VisiFone and added, "This pilot takes advantage of the telephone's full capabilities and will clearly demonstrate the significant benefits offered to the VisiFone VoIP subscriber."
The VoIP Consumer Experience
The capability of consumers to view customized news, weather, sports, and information automatically at specific times of the day, is unique to the VisiFone. The personalized content will be sponsored by best in class marketers delivering uniquely targeted and relevant information on a home by home basis. Even more importantly, advertisements and content viewed on the VisiFone enables consumers to interact instantaneously using a communication tool they have been accustomed to for the past century - their home telephone. Consumers can choose to program the information according to their individual taste as well as control the features of their VoIP services directly on the screen of their VisiFone MM. ViseonMedia content and it's host of feature-packed applications accessible or resident on the VisiFone MM is designed not to replace the television or the personal computer; instead, it is a dedicated always-on "third screen" in the home where consumers can automatically view personalized information on their own schedule in an easy to use and entertaining environment. This customized "casting" of rich media through the VisiFone MM is only now possible due to the increased bandwidth of today's high-speed broadband services. The extensive broadband penetration into today's homes which has surpassed 50% enables ViseonMedia's marketing partners to potentially reach and connect with a majority of consumers in an innovative manner.
The VoIP Marketing Experience
ViseonMedia's is currently signing marketing agreements with major content providers and innovative marketers within industry segments including consumer packaged goods, financial services, leisure and travel, entertainment, pharmaceutical, food, and retail stores. Collectively these marketers will benefit from this unique pilot opportunity to learn about consumer behavior and interaction on such a new media channel. ViseonMedia offers many advantages for advertisers and consumers alike. As the VisiFone becomes an "always on" key communications tool for the home, customers will become much more reliant upon their VisiFone to stay "connected" with the outside world in a rich, compelling, and entertaining manner. Customers will personalize viewable content according to their daily routines and schedules. The more precisely the programming is customized, the higher the relevance and personal value to the consumer. Conversely, advertisers will be able leverage ViseonMedia's consumer VoIP media network where analysts estimate the number of VoIP U.S. subscribers to reach 27 million subscribers by 2009. Additionally, advertisers will be able to benefit from ViseonMedia's database of personal user profile and content preferences provided by the consumer enabling advertisers to reach individually targeted homes with personalized interactive advertisements and content which can lead to a variety of trackable and measurable consumer interactions. VisiFone MM users will be able to interact further with any advertiser by requesting to see more detailed information such as a downloadable informational video or how-to guides, print product coupons for later redemption, make an immediate purchase, or push one button to talk directly to a participating advertiser or local retailer by audio or video.
