VeriSign Enables the Mobile Marketplace through New Services

16 March 2005

VeriSign, Inc. ( Nasdaq: VRSN ), the leading provider of intelligent infrastructure services for the Internet and telecommunications networks, today introduced new mobile content and commerce solutions at the CTIA Wireless 2005 show. The services, which include advancements from billing to mobile games and entertainment, enable wireless operators to quickly deliver compelling services to their subscribers.

“The wireless content and distribution market is maturing and carriers are aware they need to consistently deliver compelling mobile content and entertainment,” said Vernon Irvin, executive vice president, VeriSign Communications Services. “The services and solutions we are announcing allow carriers to quickly, easily and securely provide consumers with a variety of mobile content including ringtones, popular music, screensavers and interactive games.”

VeriSign will be demonstrating its range of service offerings including:

Ojom Mobile Entertainment and Games Unit: As the premier mobile entertainment and games unit within VeriSign’s Digital Content Services, Ojom’s mobile entertainment publishing and development services enable service providers to generate revenue while providing an entertaining consumer experience.

Jamster! Mobile Content Services: VeriSign's Mobile Commerce and Content Services enable carriers and service providers to deliver innovative new services to their customers, including ringtones, popular music and pictures/graphics. Jamster! is a wholly owned subsidiary of VeriSign.

Billing & OSS Services: Billing & OSS offers a virtually seamless order-to-cash environment at a low total cost of ownership, enabling the wireless delivery of next-generation communication, commerce, and content services, and accelerating the delivery of new, data-rich mobile services such as mobile commerce.

Push –to-Talk: The VeriSign Push-To-Talk Service will combine a portable handset client with VoIP and SIP technologies to deliver push-to-talk voice services over any standard wireless packet data infrastructure. The Push-to-Talk service enables subscribers to place private and group calls instantly across one or more service provider networks at the touch of a button.
Wireless Data Roaming Services: VeriSign’s Wireless Data Roaming Service ( WDRS ) is a carrier-grade, outsource solution enabling service providers to offer wireless data roaming to their subscribers over Wi-Fi, CDMA2000 and GSM/GPRS networks.

VoIP Services: VeriSign's Wireless IP Connect is a managed service that allows wireless operators to provide VoIP-to-wireless roaming to their subscribers.
VeriSign will be demonstrating these services at its booth #1231 at CTIA Wireless 2005.

VeriSign will also be participating in the “Wireless Home at CTIA,” showcasing IP Connect, Digital Content Utility and Unified Authentication in the house.
