Ubiquity Software Selected by Global Crossing as SIP Platform Preferred Supplier for Global IP Network Expansion6 July 2006
Ubiquity Software(LSE: UBQ) and Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC) today announced the executionof a multi-year, multimillion dollar agreement whereby Ubiquity Softwarewill become a preferred supplier for Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)Application Server technology in Global Crossing's global, IP network. Under the agreement, Global Crossing will use Ubiquity's SIP ApplicationServer (SIP A/S) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) service creationenvironment to develop, deploy and manage a new generation of IP-basedservices, and to migrate existing legacy applications to Global Crossing'sglobal IP platform. Global Crossing currently plans to deploy severalapplications including VoIP Interactive Voice Response and VoIP NetworkTransfer. In connection with the agreement, INUK Networks, a partner of Ubiquity,entered into a separate agreement to purchase Voice over Internet Protocol(VoIP) services from Global Crossing (UK) Telecommunications Limited(GCUK). The services will be part of a triple-play offering to be launchedby INUK Networks later this year, providing university students broadbandInternet access, IPTV and VoIP.
