TR Communications Joins UCN Sales Partner Program11 July 2005
UCN, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: UCNN - News), a provider of on-demand contact handling software and business telecommunication services delivered over the UCN national VoIP network, announced today that TR Communications, of Buffalo, NY, has joined the UCN Sales Partner program. TR Communications, founded in the UK more than 100 years ago, began doing business in the US in 1974, renting phones to businesses. Today the company employs 76 people located in 6 offices across New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The company specializes in solving business communications challenges across multiple market segments, primarily with premises-based equipment solutions. TR Communications is one of the largest dealers for NEC and Altigen Communications (a server-based phone system) and a master agent for a number of telecom products. "We recognize that simply providing commoditized hardware products adds little value for our clients. Our strategic plan calls for us to provide turnkey technology solutions mapped back to our clients' overall business objectives," explains Kevin Kelly, TR Communications President and CEO. "To accomplish our plan, we have transitioned toward delivering custom communications solutions, where much of the revenue is generated from professional services. As anyone can imagine, our clients view their communications technologies as mission critical so having a partner like TR with our 24x7x365 service adds tremendous value to our customers," Mr. Kelly continued.
TR Communications (TRC) was attracted to the UCN inContact(TM) product suite for two key reasons: the customization capabilities of inContact and the fact the product is an IP-based, hosted solution. The flexibility to program what the customer needs fits right in with TRC's business model of providing custom solutions. And as a hosted solution, TRC is better equipped to provide faster response and higher quality client service. "With a hosted solution, we can diagnose problems remotely, with our significant knowledge base and subject matter experts at our fingertips," said John Flynn a Sales Engineer with TR Communications. "This will reduce TRC costs while saving the customer time and aggravation."
Among the customer-facing cost savings Flynn sees is the ability to support peak periods more economically: "With a hosted solution, instead of paying for enough telecom lines into the premises PBX to accommodate peaks periods, our customers can now quickly add or remove ports at the network level as business volumes change. Furthermore, it becomes easy to help businesses across multiple locations load-balance their personnel. If the main office gets busy, then traffic simply flows to the next available person, who happens to be sitting at a remote location." Speculating on what it will take to be a successful VAR, Flynn adds: "As hardware margins dry up, it's going to be professional services and IP-hosted solutions."
Kevin Childs, Vice President, inContact Solutions, said: "UCN is delighted to have a partnership with TR Communications. Their strong presence in the North East will aide UCN in penetrating this region with a very talented Sales and Professional Services organization."
