Sirenza Microdevices Announces Production Release of CATV RF Tuner/Transmitter30 November 2005
Sirenza Microdevices (Nasdaq: SMDI) announced today the production release of the ISG4042EU-T, five-volt CATV model RF tuner and transmitter. A major international CATV OEM has designed this new tuner product into its Euro-DOCSIS status monitoring transponder. This transponder has been awarded DOCSIS 1.1 certification by the ECL Euro-DOCSIS Certification Board during recently completed Wave 20 testing. "Sirenza is pleased to provide this RF tuner/transmitter product solution that supported our customer's receipt of this important international certification," stated Richard Bay-Ramyon, Sirenza's strategic business unit director, broadband/ consumer products. "This will assure cable TV and VoIP operators in Europe and around the world that our product meets stringent performance and interoperability requirements in harsh environments." The ISG4042EU-T and its U.S. version, the ISG4042-T tuner, process both video and data signals over CATV networks, typically for network monitoring and CATV network extensions. The ISG4042-EU-T will begin shipping in volume in 2006 for CATV applications. Sirenza's tuners perform over commercial temperature ranges in outdoor environments in U.S. and EU DOCSIS networks.
