Shift Reports 141% Subscriber Growth in First Quarter 2005

Shift Networks Inc. (SHF: TSX-V), one of Canada's leading providers of hosted Voice over IP phone services for
business, today announced that the Company sold a total of 333 new subscriber lines in the first quarter 2005, up from 138 lines in the fourth quarter, 2004. Each line sale represents a minimum 36-month service contract plus sale of IP telephone, network infrastructure and installation.

"Mass market adoption with a complete changeover to IP communications is expected over the next few years," commented Shift President and CEO Trent Johnsen. "There is a lot of education on the benefits of VoIP taking place in the marketplace. We're seeing rapid implementation of VoIP by some of Canada's largest companies.
