Quintum Announces New Tenor AF VoIP Gateway for SMBs

25 January 2006

Quintum Technologies, a leading innovator in VoIP technologies, is pleased to announce their new Tenor AF switch, designed for 8 analog lines in both station side and trunk side configurations. The new Tenor AF supports up to 8 simultaneous VoIP calls.

The new Tenor AF has a smaller footprint than the current Tenor AS, and offers up to twice as much capacity. More importantly, it has a significantly smaller footprint than the Tenor AX model that currently supports 8 VoIP calls.

The Tenor AF, designed for small to medium sized enterprises, can intelligently route calls between the VoIP, a traditional PBX/analog phone or the PSTN. With its universal dial plan, the Tenor AF can support both public and unique dialing requirements.

The Tenor AF includes Quintum's newest feature set of easy to use configuration and management tools, including the Tenor Configuration Manager (GUI) and Wizard, and the Tenor Monitor that offers realtime monitoring of alarms, call status and Call Detail Records. Tenor can easily be remotely managed behind NAT firewalls utilizing the new Tenor Remote Management Session Server.

Tenor AF can also be deployed as an IP-PBX branch office solution, and will assure survivability with the ability to backup to the PSTN should the IP PBX network be compromised.

"I was very impressed with Tenor AF gateway," said Salvatore Costantino, President of Pulse, Inc., Towson MD. "We got it configured and communicating with our phone system in minutes, thanks to the easy to use and intuitive GUI provided by Quintum."

Quintum's Tenor MultiPath Switch is used to transfer calls between the public switched telephone network and IP-based local or wide area networks. Unlike other standard voice over IP gateways that simply provide circuit to packet connectivity, the Quintum Tenor provides intelligent connectivity between analog devices, the PSTN and IP devices, making it the perfect branch office gateway solution. Other capabilities include intelligent call routing, a PacketSaver(TM) feature for optimum bandwidth utilization, and NATAccess(TM), which enables it to be deployed behind the corporate firewall for maximum security.

The Tenor is currently available. The gateway configuration lists for $1,000 and the termination configuration lists for $1240.
