PointOne and Always On Wireless today announced that they are jointly developing a platform to implement VoIP phone services using Always On Wireless' next generation WiFlyer. This new service will allow consumers without broadband Internet -- representing more than two thirds of U.S. households for the next several years -- to enjoy the benefits and cost reduction of VoIP phone service without the costs or requirement for broadband. Using the WiFlyer, users are able to share a dialup Internet connection among several computers at the same time while being able to access the Internet wirelessly from a laptop, anywhere in their home.
