Philips elevates Ascalade to Partner Supplier21 December 2005
Ascalade Communications Inc. (TSX: ACG) today announced that it has been elevated to the level of Partner Supplier by Philips Consumer Electronics, a division of Royal Philips Electronics ("Philips") (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI). "I am delighted to extend an invitation to elevate Ascalade to our highest level of Partner Supplier," said Nick Dosanjh, Vice President and General Manager of Philips. Ascalade has also been selected to design and manufacture Philips' 2006 range of DECT cordless communication products. The selected B178 and B179 models from Ascalade feature DECT cordless technology, which enables superior voice quality in cordless communication. DECT stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications, a wireless technology for voice, data and networking applications with a range up to a few hundred meters. Both phone models support up to 4 handsets per line, include a speakerphone, a built-in phone book, polyphonic ring tones, an alarm clock and caller line identification (CLI). The B179 model has an additional integrated digital answering machine. Both models also feature an innovative industrial design produced in collaboration between Ascalade and Philips.
