Patton Ships World's Smallest VoIP ATA

19 March 2006

Patton Electronics -- the leader in network-access, connectivity, and VoIP solutions -- announced today their SmartLink(TM) Micro Analog Telephone Adapter (M-ATA(TM)) is now shipping.

Patton's latest customer-premise-equipment (CPE) for Voice-over-IP (VoIP) networks also happens to be the smallest analog telephone adapter (ATA) on the market. Building on a solid track record of large-scale deployments in carrier and service-provider networks, today's announcement further establishes Patton leadership as a VoIP-technology innovator.

The device's tiny size and light weight are designed to minimize shipping costs, while remote-management features reduce VoIP operating expenses, leading to higher profits for carriers and lower costs for subscribers.

"Total-cost-of-ownership is the key term here," said Burton A. Patton, Executive Vice President. "Low price is just the beginning. Our featherweight form factor means low freight charges. When you're sending VoIP CPEs to a hundred thousand customers, saving a buck or two on each box really adds up. With no-touch provisioning, remote configuration, web management, free lifetime software upgrades ... plus our free, world-class tech support ... Patton's M-ATA(TM) pushes way down on operating costs."

Patton's pocket-size M-ATA(TM) connects any standard analog phone or fax machine to an enterprise or service-provider VoIP network. The tiny-yet- powerful device makes state-of-the-art VoIP available to any home, home office or small office with broadband Internet access.

"There's nobody out there with a smaller VoIP adapter," said Marco Liechti, VoIP Product Manager. "Yet it's packed with powerful calling features -- caller-ID, call-waiting, call-forwarding, conferencing, and on and on ... Remote management means providers can roll out and run their VoIP service without leaving their office, wiping out the expense and hassle of service calls."

Businesses and non-profits can use the SmartLink(TM) M-ATA to reduce or eliminate phone charges by connecting remote offices through the Internet to a corporate VoIP network. Ultra-miniature dimensions add a convenience factor. Employees can slip the M-ATA(TM) into a pocket or briefcase to carry home, where the tiny footprint takes up a negligible amount of desk space.
