Pace Enters Voice Over IP Market

Pace Micro Technology, a leading digital set-top box provider specializing in the development of emerging technologies across all television platforms, today announced its plans to enter the Voice Over IP (VoIP) market with the development of a new embedded multi-media terminal adapter (eMTA) product, called the DV315. The DV315 eMTA is currently under development and will be generally available to cable operators by the end of this year.

Pace will be demonstrating the DV315, along with its full North American product line, at SCTE's Cable-Tec Expo in San Antonio, TX, June 15-17 in booth #4097.

"Pace recognizes that triple play services of voice, video and data are key to the continued growth of our industry," said Pace's V.P. of Marketing and Product Management Bruce Gureck. "We expect the use of IP voice services will become even more prevalent in the coming years and we are readying our engineering team now to develop the best high-bandwidth capacity eMTA product to deliver on this growing demand."

Pace's wideband voice eMTA product will offer a highly integrated component design providing extremely low power consumption, long battery life for life-line service during power outages and support for a wide variety of voice codecs for maximum operator flexibility.
