Vonage Canada, a leading provider of Internet phone service, announced today their relationship with CARP, Canada's Association for the Fifty-Plus, which will provide a special offer to CARP members who sign up for Vonage's leading Internet phone service.

Vonage Internet phone service is basically the same as traditional home phone service, except calls travel over the Internet instead of the phone network. To use Vonage, all that is required is a high-speed Internet connection, a Vonage phone adapter and a touchtone phone. Simply plug the touchtone phone and the Internet connection into the Vonage phone adapter. There's nothing to download, no software to install, and no technician is required.

One of the unique features that will appeal to CARP members is the portability of Vonage's service. Simply bring the adapter to a vacation or winter home and connect it to a high-speed Internet connection. Because the home phone number resides inside the adapter, family and friends can call that number no matter where in the world the owner travels - and pay no long distance charges. Similarly, CARP members can make outbound calls as if they were back at home.
CARP members will be given the opportunity to sign up for Vonage phone service through the CARP web site at www.CARP.ca. CARP members will receive two months of free service, a Linksys RTP300 phone adapter for no extra charge and the shipping and activation fee will be waived(*).
