NETGEAR Launches Voice Products in Europe Through sipgate26 April 2005
NETGEAR(R), Inc. , a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking products, today announced that sipgate, Europe's first multinational Internet telephone service provider, has agreed to offer NETGEAR products to sipgate customers in Austria, Germany and the United Kingdom. This arrangement is NETGEAR's first with a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service provider in Europe, and further underscores the importance to NETGEAR of the development and delivery of new VoIP devices for residential and small
office/home office (SOHO) customers. The first product to be covered by the new relationship is a NETGEAR Broadband Voice Adapter with Router and 2 Phone Ports (Model TA612V), specifically customized by NETGEAR to support sipgate VoIP services.

Customers that sign up for the sipgate service use their existing broadband connection to make phone calls over the Internet, either as a second landline service or as a replacement for their existing landline. sipgate provides subscribers with the NETGEAR Broadband Voice Adapter with Router, which is the ideal telephone terminal adapter for delivering convergent voice services to the networked home environment. The NETGEAR Broadband Voice Adapter offers standard NETGEAR router and firewall functionality so that subscribers can also connect personal computers and peripheral devices into a home network.
The NETGEAR Broadband Voice Adapter with Router has two ports for telephone and fax devices and two RJ-45 jacks for connections to the Internet and the home network.
