Motorola and Vonage® Team Up to Bring New Full-Featured Voice-over-IP Solution to Consumers

27 July 2005

Vonage adds Motorola’s broadband voice gateway product to its robust portfolio of consumer home networking products.

Motorola, Inc. ( NYSE: MOT ) today announced that Vonage Marketing, a subsidiary of Vonage Holdings Corp., the leading provider of broadband telephone service, will now offer customers the recently introduced Motorola VT2442 Voice-over-IP ( VoIP ) gateway with home networking features.

An all-in-one solution, the versatile Motorola VT2442 greatly simplifies the process of adding broadband telephone service into a home network. The VT2442 powers up to two lines of telephone service and supports popular features such as call waiting, call forwarding and caller ID. The VT2442 also includes a fully-featured home network router, offering four Ethernet ports for connecting computers or gaming consoles, and an advanced firewall for Internet security. The product incorporates Texas Instruments’ TNETV1060 VoIP gateway chipset, further enhancing the quality and feature offerings of Vonage’s broadband telephony service for subscribers.

From just one box, consumers can now get the powerful Vonage broadband phone service and an easy way to share their high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection around their home.

“Motorola is an ideal partner: they are a market leader in broadband-enabled products that are high-quality and easy-to-use. This partnership builds upon Vonage’s product portfolio giving customers more choice when they subscribe to our award-winning service,” said Jeffrey A. Citron, chairman and CEO of Vonage Holdings Corp. “Motorola is a proven partner with the experience and support to ensure the quality that is essential to our business.”

“By taking two complex technologies – Voice-over-IP telephone service and home networking – and bringing them together into a single product, the Motorola VT2442 is making the Vonage service even more convenient for customers,” said Charles Dougherty, corporate vice president and general manager, Motorola Connected Home Solutions. “We’re proud to build on the extensive installed base of Motorola voice gateway products already bringing service into the homes of Vonage customers.”

Customers can get the Motorola VT2442 by ordering the Vonage service directly from www.vonage.com. This product is scheduled to be available in the fall of 2005.
