LightEdge Solutions and Internet Express Join Forces to Become the Premier Managed Service Provider in the Midwest27 January 2006
LightEdge Solutions, Inc., a leader in converged data networking, voice-over-Internet-protocol (VoIP) and managed IT business services, and Internet Express, a Moline, Illinois-based provider of business and residential Internet services in the Quad-Cities area, today announced the joining of the two companies' resources and technology services offerings. The combined entity will operate under the name of LightEdge Solutions. "This transaction enters us into the prosperous and growing Quad-Cities market where Internet Express is already well established," said Jim Masterson, chairman and chief executive officer of LightEdge Solutions. "We are looking forward to the opportunity to combine our technologies and services to provide a more robust and advanced range of VoIP, data networking and IT business services to local businesses. Internet Express and LightEdge are a great fit. Our culture and philosophies are very well aligned." Internet Express currently provides business and residential customers with reliable, redundant high-speed Internet access services. The joining of the two companies will provide Internet Express customers, as well as other small and midsize businesses in the Quad-Cities area, with access to advanced technology services such as VoIP phone systems, data networking and business services at affordable monthly rates. Since these services are available from LightEdge as hosted and fully managed solutions, businesses can avoid the significant up-front capital infrastructure investment typically required to deploy and maintain such systems. "Internet Express customers and local businesses will now have a larger array of Fortune-500-caliber technology services and options available to them at affordable monthly fees," said Kris Harris, founder of Internet Express. "We were impressed with LightEdge's technology offerings and believe their high standards for customer care are a good match for our customer base. We look forward to continuing to serve our customer base with outstanding service and support." All employees from both entities remain intact and, in fact, LightEdge is currently hiring to meet continued demand for its services. Terms of the transaction will not be disclosed.
