The VE880 VoicePort devices are the most highly integrated series of devices on the planet and support 1FXS, 1FXO, 1FXS + 1FXO, and now 2FXS in a single device. Due to Legerity's innovative design and software compatibility across the entire VE880 Series, customers can produce multiple products from a single design with minimal alterations. Another benefit of the Le882xx VoicePort devices is the option for designers to chose a power supply configuration, either tracking or Automatic Battery Switching (ABS) power supply. The tracking power supply offers customers the lowest power consumption design. The ABS power supply offers customers the lowest possible system cost for a two-channel solution.
"Legerity is truly leading the VoIP market in IC design innovation," said Mike Stibila, vice president of marketing and applications for Legerity. "Due to our 20 year history in the voice business, OEMs simply trust us to deliver reliable, high performance universal voice solutions. They don't have to second guess their decision -- they know they'll get the best part, the best field support and the lowest system cost when they choose a Legerity solution."
The VE880 VoicePort Series reduces system level cost, space and power while achieving the highest level of voice integration. The benefit to designers is a simple, cost effective, low power and dense design without sacrificing features or functionality. The high level of integration of the VoicePort design simply gives customers the most cost effective and highest quality method to add voice to VoIP equipment.
"As a leader in the VoIP industry, TI is committed to providing end users with the highest quality CPE devices at the lowest possible cost," said Fred Zimmerman, executive director, customer premise solutions, TI's VoIP business. "We value our relationship with Legerity and their experience in the voice IC market, and welcome this collaboration on the delivery of new high performance VoIP solutions to our customers."
The eight, pin-compatible Le882xx devices offer multiple options for high voltage/low voltage, wide band/narrow band and tracking/ABS power supply that enable customers to generate one design and create multiple end user products. In addition to design flexibility, these feature-rich VoicePort devices are highly programmable, simplifying software development, minimizing development time and speeding time-to-market.
The VE880 VoicePort products are targeted toward CPE applications such as voice enabled cable modems, DSL modems, gateways, and media terminal adapters (MTA). In addition, these devices are ideal for FTTx, WLL, PBX, and other SME applications. The FXS devices have a complimentary Le88010 FXO device, which is also available. The Le88211 device is targeted at $4.50 per device in high volume, or $2.25 per line. More information on the new VoicePort devices can be found at www.legerity.com.
