INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO Miami 2005 Registrations Up 100 percent Over 200418 January 2005
The conference will be held February 22-25, 2005 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Miami, Florida. The theme of this year's conference is "Witness the Evolution of IP Telephony: VoIP 2.0!"
"It is now official... We are 100% higher in pre-registered attendance on a year-over-year basis, the same number of days out," confirmed Rich Tehrani, TMC president and conference chairman.
"To put this growth in perspective, consensus among many attendees and exhibitors was that last year's show was the biggest they'd seen since the telecom bubble burst in 2001," added Tehrani.
Comments from participants in the conference in 2004 included:
"This place is a mad house." -- Debora Glennon, Nortel Networks
"I Haven't seen a show this busy in three years." -- Mark Straton, Senior VP, Siemens
"...it was the most active conference that I have been at in nearly three years." -- Howard Kendall, Intertex
According to TMC, total attendance at last year's INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO in Miami was 3,629. While the current trend projects attendance to be over 7,000, TMC officials caution against setting unrealistic expectations.
"No VoIP show comes anywhere near us in terms of attendance. However, in the TMC tradition of under-promising and over-delivering we would rather be conservative and predict we will have 4,500 attendees at this show," explained TMC's VP of Marketing, Michael Genaro.
Genaro continued, "INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO is still the only VoIP industry marketplace where buyers and sellers come together. The focus of the conference is educating enterprises, government, service providers, developers and resellers about how to select and deploy VoIP solutions. This is not an industry insider/regulatory event by nature. People come to this show because this is where the sellers are and many of our exhibitors will not be found at any other event."
