Internap Names IP and Technology Veteran to Senior Management Team29 May 2005
Today Internap Network Services Corporation (AMEX:IIP), the leading provider of performance-based routing solutions over the Internet, announced the addition of technology product veteran Robert "Bob" Smith, II as chief marketing officer. The newest member of the Internap executive management team will lead all components of the company's marketing strategy including advertising, branding, product management and communications.
Mr. Smith was previously at BellSouth during which time he was responsible for management of enterprise and mass-market products, services and applications. In this role, he led the company's Multi-protocol Label Switching for Virtual Private Networks (MPLS VPN), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Optical DWDM, metro Ethernet services and broadband products.
Prior to joining BellSouth, Mr. Smith held positions as senior marketing director and executive manager of IP and virtual data at Qwest Communications and MCI, respectively. Throughout his career he has been noted as an expert on Internet Networking, particularly in the areas of security, VPN and Network performance.
