Empirix Inc Announces Acquires Leading Center for Independent Testing and Evaluation of VoIP13 January 2005
CT Labs will become an independent operating unit of Empirix, offering clients enhanced capabilities, including a new ultra-high density VoIP test facility for independent functional, interoperability, regression, performance and scalability lab testing. The lab will also expand its geographic focus to serve enterprises, equipment manufacturers and service providers worldwide.
"This acquisition is a natural extension of the close professional and working relationship that has existed between our two companies since the founding of CT Labs," said Steven Gladstone, VP and general manager of the Empirix Communications Infrastructure Group. "It provides new resources for CT Labs to expand the expertise and infrastructure available to the industry for world-class, state-of-the art VoIP testing, under an organizational structure that will maintain the independence and integrity that have been central to their success."
Established in 1998, CT Labs is a recognized pioneer in the development and execution of VoIP and TDM-related tests to validate and assess network elements and networks, and has been selected to conduct numerous private tests and public test events. CT Labs will continue to utilize test equipment from a variety of vendors, and to operate under the direction of founder Chris Bajorek.
In addition to its broad range of lab-based testing services and comparative testing for leading industry media organizations, CT Labs will provide expertise to Empirix to assist in development of advanced solutions for VoIP testing and monitoring, particularly in the areas of test automation and test suite creation for the portfolio of Hammer test platforms.
