CallButler Powers Industry Leading Auto-Attendant and IVR for Skype24 October 2006
Works Out Software, Inc. announced the availability of a new version of its flagship product, CallButler, that integrates with the Skype internet telephone service. The CallButler for Skype solutions offer the more than 130 million Skype users the ability to seamlessly integrate advanced calling features with their Skype accounts. These features include integrated voicemail with unlimited storage, custom greetings, text-to-speech, auto-attendant, interactive voice response (IVR), dial-by-name directory, music on-hold (MOH), database/web service integration, and integration with Microsoft Outlook. "This as an important step toward providing our users with a host of communication solutions that meet both current and emerging communication needs," says Jim Heising, Works Out Software CEO. "Skype's phenomenal growth is truly astounding. As Skype continues its evolution from a simple Internet telephone to a communications platform, users will begin looking for more features above and beyond placing calls and voicemail. Our CallButler for Skype solutions offer an easy way for Skype users to extend the functionality of Skype in innovative ways." "Skype is a mainstream network, a brand recognized around the world," says Philip Wolff, Managing Editor, Skype Journal. "Like they did with blogs, email, and other social media, Skype users are bringing their tools to work. They value this new medium for richer communication, effective teamwork, and extraordinary ease and convenience. Skype's own estimates put about one third of Skype users in the workplace. In response to this demand, Skype is building commerce into their network. They are partnering with sister companies PayPal for payment and eBay for directory and community. Increasingly, Skype will help people and organizations of every size not only sell their goods and services, but 'sell' intangibles like information, education, and entertainment by delivering a new model for building and managing social capital. Applications like CallButler build on Skype as a platform for the 'commerce conversation'." Works Out Software sees two primary audiences for these solutions -- individual users looking to implement advanced calling features and build inventive solutions around Skype and small businesses and SOHOs looking to create Skype-based auto-attendant systems. CallButler for Skype will be offered in two editions -- CallButler Free for Skype and CallButler Professional for Skype. CallButler Free for Skype is a free version that includes basic voicemail, calling, and auto-attendant features. CallButler Professional for Skype offers the added ability to create customized scripts and to integrate into back-end databases and applications. About Works Out Software, Inc.
