Ascalade developing DECT products for Canada24 December 2005
Ascalade Communications Inc. (TSX: ACG) - Industry Canada announced last week that it has approved the use of personal communication devices in the 1920-1930 MHz frequency band in Canada. Ascalade plans to expand their existing range of digital cordless devices that use the DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) standard to operate in this new frequency range in Canada. The new frequency range approved by Industry Canada will enable cordless communication products with more features, including a greater range, superior voice quality, and the ability to operate with less interference than those in the already crowded 2.4 GHz range, where an increasing number of home and office devices already operate. The approval of this new frequency band in Canada opens a new market for Ascalade's existing cordless products. Ascalade currently offers a large range of cordless products that operate on the DECT standard for customers in Europe, the United States and Asia.
