StockPickReport Commentary -- March 27, 2006

Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing can preconceive, create and sell interconnect solutions for a multitude of electronic applications connectors and manufacture the plastic lenses for their overhead projectors. This company, in many ways, seems capable of doing it all.

However, to some analysts, 3M may not have "kicked the door in" with its results in the most recent quarter. But, we think they were good notwithstanding those analyst opinions. In fact, the company could just float some bonds because they might have the capacity to take on debt if they could find a "growth vehicle" for the cash they bring in.

We see MMM leveraging its size, centralizing purchasing, and cutting its number of suppliers. These are all positives for the stock, long-term.
