AGN is providing public network connections for an IP telephony solution provided to the show by Avaya Inc., (NYSE: AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.
Both AGN Networks and Avaya were selected by Interop New York to support InteropNet - a multivendor network providing critical communication services to exhibitors, conference sessions and meeting rooms during the December 12-16 show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center.
In recognition of the short setup time allotted, AGN deployed SIP-based Packet Trunk(TM) services that provide real-time network access and are compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with the company's IP telephony solutions.
AGN Networks Packet Trunk service allows operators of IP- enabled Avaya telephony systems to establish an immediate connection to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) via virtual IP trunks in native Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).
"Ordinarily, trunk lines to support show communications are time-consuming to install and must be ordered months in advance," said Lenny Heymann, general manager of MediaLive International Inc., the company producing Interop New York.
